Kingpin vs TNS
Kingpin vs TNS
This was not a typical size mismatch squash job. TNS quickly showed he was not going to let Kingpin get away with treating him as if he was a helpless jobber. Kingpin’s first move was a headlock. He added noogies to it, something that gets done to the weaker kids in schoolyards, and he called TNS boy. When he followed that with a bearhug, TNS slapped him square in the face. Couldn’t tell if it was motivated by the pain from the hold, or by anger at being called a boy. There were more slaps after that. Why? TNS trapped Kingpin in the corner and lectured him, saying he damn sure was not just an “easy win” for the Vertex big guys, and there was no way they could shut him up. Kingpin used his considerable wrestling knowledge to take control, but when TNS was able to put him in a painful hold, he obviously enjoyed asking Kingpin if he liked it. Kingpin apparently got the message, complimenting TNS on his skill on several occasions. TNS did have to endure being worked over, but he earned Kingpin’s respect by handling it well. Kingpin kept his cool despite the slaps, although his finishing move was so violent he was concerned he had done more damage than he intended. Despite being barely conscious at the end, TNS had made his point. He may have been defeated, but he was not humiliated.
Kingpin vs TNS
Kingpin is a bad dude. TNS wasn't the hapless jobber Jer-Bear easily dominated. He gave his much bigger opponent problems with tight headlocks and a cobra clutch. Kingpin got trapped in a corner and had to endure both verbal and physical abuse from the cocky newcomer. Kingpin wore him down, tortured him with a full nelson, and finished him off with a piledriver. But he seemed to appreciate the effort TNS made to keep it competitive, and apparently was willing to overlook the steady stream of insults TNS seems to never run out of, no matter how badly he is being beaten down. This was a great match, well worth watching.
